Friday 22nd October A-Team Balloon Race - Raising Alcohol Awareness in Birmingham.
In conjunction with the Safer Birmingham Partnership and Alcohol Awareness Week.

The Balloon race on Weoley Castle Square proved a real success, with over 100 people registering their details and entering a balloon into the race.
A bright but windy day meant the marquees nearly took off as well as the balloons, however the wind soon died down and all agencies involved were able to set up their stalls offering advice, guidance and general alcohol awareness.
Staff from the A-Team alcohol service, IWIC (Irish Welfare and Information Centre), Aquarius and Lloyds Pharmacy and SMART were on hand to chat to the public and give out information about local services.
There were some tired fingers and blisters as staff from the A- team worked to ensure all balloons were blown up and competition ties attached.
The Balloons were finally released at 4 pm and disappeared into the sky marking the climax of a successful day and awareness campaign that really took off!
DHL have kindly donated £100 of high street vouchers which will be given to the lucky individual whose balloon is reported to have travelled the furthest.
Results of all locations that the balloons are found will be published on the website at a later date..
